Delegation led by Julio Friedmann Visits the IEEPA for Project Cooperation and Communication

On the afternoon of September 12 , 2014, a delegation led by Julio Friedmann, Deputy Assistant Secretary of US Department of Energy, visited the International Ecological Economy Promotion Association(IEEPA) to carry out the project cooperation and communication. The secretary-general Jon Li met with and hosted a banquet for the delegation in the north meeting room of the Great Hall of the People. During the project talks, the two sides exchanged their opinions upon the experience, technology route and mode, etc. of the energy and environmental project dominated by the IEEPA. Zhu Fahua, IEEPA expert and the vice-president of the research institute of China Guodian Corporation, project representative (the International Biomass Green and Low-carbon Energy Pilot Base) and Du Bo, the Vice-CEO of Inner Mongolia Mu Us Biomass thermal power co., LTD participated in the talks. Participants of the meeting and the talks also include Samuel S. Tam, Chief Representative in China's affairs of the U.S. Department of Energy and Robert Ivy, the office director in China of the U.S. Department of Energy, etc.

Secretary-general Jon Li welcomed the delegation, introduced the projects of IEEPA and set forth the potential cooperation with the U.S Department of Energy in the future. Vice-president Zhu Fahua introduced the current situation and future trend of the state development of energy in China. Vice-CEO Du Bo introduced the project of the International Biomass Green and Low-carbon Energy Pilot Base in details, and further discussed the cooperation upon specific details with the delegation.

Deputy Assistant Secretary Julio Friedmann expressed thanks to the IEEPA for the reception, he then welcomed and invited the IEEPA and the U.S Department of Energy to introduce more cooperative academic institutions and enterprises to invest, communicate and contact with. According to Mr. Friedmann, the U.S has gained many experiences, which came from numerous success as well as failure in the energy field, through years of research, and he hopes that these experiences could provide the IEEPA projects with guidance, assistance and support. Also, he looks forwards to the future cooperation and contact in specific project, so as to jointly deal with the climate change and promote the energy efficiency.
