Secretary General Jon Li Met with Brazilian Ambassador to China Valdemar Carneiro Leao

On the afternoon of June 24th, 2014, Secretary General Li Junyang went to the EmbassyoftheFederativeRepublicofBrazilto meet with Valdemar Carneiro Leao, the Brazilian Ambassador to China. The two sides exchanged ideas on the current development and prospect for cooperation of biomass energy.

Secretary General Jon Li believed that Brazil is of great economic development potential as a BRICS member. According to him, the advantage lies especially on biomass energy technologies. He thus hope that the EmbassyoftheFederativeRepublicofBrazil can help recommend institutions from Brazil to cooperate with their Chinese counterparts.

Ambassador Valdemar Carneiro Leao, on the other hand, expressed his welcome to Secretary General Li Junyang. According to him, Brazil has made great achievements on biomass energy development. Nowadays, bio-ethanol is not only widely used on the automobile field in Brazil but also accepted by the international market. Ambassador Valdemar Carneiro Leao also expressed his willingness to support IEEPA in developing biomass energy programs and recommend institutions from Brazil to launch relevant cooperation.
