IEEPA China Center for International Cooperation Held Talks with Officials from Portugal Embassy in China and EU Chamber of Commerce

On January 6, 2012, as per prior arrangement of IEEPA China Center for International Cooperation, Jon Li, secretary-general of IEEPA, came to Portugal Embassy in China, and held talks with officials from Portugal Embassy in China, and Ecoprogresso and Carbon Market Work Team of EU Chamber of Commerce on future exchange and cooperation.

During the two-hour talks, both sides exchanged their proposals and opinions on future development and cooperation, and top issues covered EU aid program, policy, market strategy and technology consultation in energy conservation, environmental protection and energy cooperation fields, holding enterprise-based workshop under the support of Portugal Embassy, and cooperation in the 5th WEC, green low-carbon urban program, and support China's cities to establish and develop green low-carbon industry parks and so on.

Later on, both sides reached consensus on strengthening exchange, pragmatic cooperation, establishing coordination mechanism for future work.

The main attendees include IEEPA secretary-general Jon Li, Miguel Ataide Coelho, economic counselor of Embassy of Portugal Economic Section Business Development Agency, Renato Roldao, vice chair of Carbon Market Working Group, European Union Chamber of Commerce in China, and staffs from IEEPA China Center for International Cooperation, and Beijing LCS Center.
